| Reason for Aircraft Loss | Swung off the runway while taxiing and struck a windsock. It is thought that a tyre may have burst. The other three crew members were killed outright. Sgt Rhodes (as he was at the time) was grieavously injured and was repatriated back to Australia but lost his fight for life on 21 May 1946, almost exactly two years after the incident. |
