Reason for Loss | Seen to pass over RAF Basingbourn at low altitude with both engines running and the navigation lights on. Shortly afterwards it entered a steep dive and crashed two miles north of the airfield, killing all of the crew. The cause of the loss was never positively identified, although the pilot had little experience on type, or of flying at night. |
