Returning in a sports car from Norwich where they had spent the evening at a show, P/O Davis and P/O Wilson swerved in their vehicle, struck a telegraph post and overturned, pinning poth occupants and killing them instantly. A verdict of accidental death was recorded at an inquest held at the "Cock", Barford, close to the scene of the incident. |
He was an accomplished mechanic and spoke several languages fluently. |
His funeral was held on Friday 8 April 1938. His former headmaster at Highfield Preparatory School, Wandsworth Common, the Reverend C. N. Lowe, officiated. Six 37 Squadron officers attended the funeral and a flypast took place as his coffin was lowered. |
