Reason for Loss | Struck by a van on 27 November 1943 whilst serving as a waitress with Bomber Command at RAF Riccall. Severely injured with a fractured lumbar, spine concussions and abrasions, she was admitted to the Seacroft EMS Hospital, Leeds and medically discharged from the WAAF on 10 April 1944. Paralysed, she died in the Mid-Glamorgan Hospital, Bridgend from exhaustion caused by trophic ulcers. |
