Reason for Loss | Coned by searchlights from a marine flak battery as the aircraft approached Sengwarden, Wilhelmshaven and hit by light flak. Crashed into a ditch just outside Sengwarden and caught fire. The local fire brigade attended the scene and extinguished the flames. The post-war investigation casts expresses the possibility that the bodies could have been mixed up when they laid to rest. |
