Miscellaneous Information
Eric was born at Stonewall, Manitoba on 24 October 1917. His father was born in LIverpool, England and was a farmer and his mother was born in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. The schools he attended were Public School 1924-1932 and Argyle Public 1933 1934, Manitoba. His sport interest was hockey. Eric worked with his father on their farm at Grosse Isle until enlisting. |
He enlisted on 18 April 1940. After initial training he embarked from Canada on 28 February 1941 and arrived in the U.K. at 3PRC on 2 March 1941. He then went to 15 OTU on 15 March 1941, 1 S.S. 3 April 1941, 10 OTU 10 May 1941 and 51 Squadron 20 August 1941. Eric very sadly lost his life on 31 October1941. |
