Operation | Witten. 140 Lancasters of 3 Group using G-H to bomb the steelworks. German fighters claimed 8 Lancasters. The local report stated that the steelworks were not hit but instead bombs fell in a scattered manner throughout the town. 126 houses and 5 industrial premises were destroyed and 334 people were killed. |
