Raymond was born on 12 January 1920 at Keremeos, British Columbia. His parents marrying in Leeds, England. They family lived in Vancouver. Raymond worked as a mechanic in Simplex Boat Works, B.C. He had three sisters Mary Joy, Muriel Frances and Edna Bernice. |
He enlisted on 19 September 1939 and after training embarked from Canada on 28 February 1941. He arrived at 3 PRC on 2 March 1941 and then went to 3 OTU 18 March 1941, 19 OTU 10 May 1941 and 77 Squadron on 11 October 1941. |
