Reason for Loss | Port outer engine lost power, either as a result of failure of a gear wheel or the breakup of the impeller shaft. On return to base, the pilot elected to overshoot but was unable to climb and crashed into a tree. All survived the crash but the two fatalities lost their fight shortly after being admitted to Northallerton Hospital |
