Miscellaneous Information
Crashed in Halifax W1219 on the night of 6th/7th September 1942 and evaded capture since the Germans who searched the aircraft found seven servicemen (one of whom was dead) and did not expect to see more, allowing him to make good his escape. His journey to freedom took him across the Pyrenees to Gibraltar with the help of the Comete. |
