| His younger Brother 1626172 AC2 Robin James Owen also died in service, 7 November 1944 aged 23. His older Brother 33066 Wing Commander John Alfred Price Owen was CO of 429 Squadron between 7 November 1942 and 31 May 1943 and survived the War. |
| Their Father, Alfred Owen, who worked in Petroleum refining, was killed during a Luftwaffe raid on 11 January 1941 at Brooke's Market, London. He was 50 years old. On this night 51 people were killed at Bank Underground Station just over 1 mile from Alfred's place of death. He was a graduate of Christ Church, Oxford University, and had been a Major in The Royal Sussex Regiment during World War I. |
