| Charles was born in Leca da Palmeira, Matosinhos, Porto, Portugal on 24 January 1907 to an English Father and a Portugese Mother. He was educated at the prestigious Rossall Public School, Fleetwood, Lancashire. Charles, like his Father, was a self employed Merchant living in Foz do Douro, Porto, Portugal. He returned to England in 1939, with war imminent, with his destination address given as the Regent Palace Hotel London. |
| His younger brother George William Niblett (1912) was also an RAF airman, a 44 Squadron Observer. He was PoWed from October 1941 when his Hampden AE382 KM-A crashed near Hardervijk in the Netherlands after being hit by anti-aircraft fire on the return leg. |
