Miscellaneous Information
His Brother, 1385244 Warrant Officer James Warden McStay, 23, of 55 Squadron Middle East Command was also lost on service. He went missing on a flight between Rome and Brindisi, 23 January 1945, in a Beech C-45 Expeditor HB271, carrying a parliamentary group visiting troops in the Mediterranean, including 136061 Lt Robert Hamilton Bernays, Royal Engineers, who had been the MP for Bristol North since 1931 and John Dermot Campbell, Deputy Lieutenant and MP for County Antrim since 1943. |
