Miscellaneous Information
Andrew was born at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on 17 April 1917. His father, who died in 1934, was born at Toronto and had worked as a Salesman and his mother was born at Douglas, Ontario. He had no siblings. The schools he attended were Upper Canada College 1929-1935, followed by the University of Toronto 1935-1937 (political science), attaining a B.A. degree, and the University of Western Ontario. 1937-1938 (business admin degree). The sports he enjoyed after leaving school were swimming, tennis, golf and skiing. During 1938-1939 he was working as a labourer in Toronto and then at the Household Finance Corporation, Toronto as a Representative, 1939- 1940. Andrew was a graduate of Culver Naval School, Indiana, USA |
He enlisted on 20 July 1940 and after training was posted to the U.K. embarking from Canada on 6 April 1941. He was at 3 PRC 19 April, 21 OTU, 26 April 1941 and 405 Squadron 10 July 1941. Sadly Andrew was to lose his life on 2 August 1941. |
