Miscellaneous Information
Codename- Skating. Survived the crash but was seriously injured. The other Dutch agents escaped. Kroon was interrogated in Kamp Haaren , after which he was taken to a prisoner of war camp in Germany. Liberated by the Americans from camp Neuengamme on 1 May 1945. Completely exhausted, he died a day later of pneumonia. It was not until 1960 that his body was recovered from Sandbostel and reburied with military tribute at Ereveld Loenen . |
