Miscellaneous Information
Born 13 August 1922. After his father died he was fostered by his wealthy aunt, Louisa May Ledger, who sent him to the highly respected St. Anselms College in Birkenhead after he won a scholarship as a third year student. John was a German speaker and was also fluent in French and Latin. He had served as an ARP Messenger prior to enlisting. |
He was previously in 76 squadron RAF Holme on Spalding Moor. Mentioned in Despatches January 1944. |
