Miscellaneous Information
Alexander was born at Wingate, Durham, England on 25 July 1909. His father was born in the County of Durham and his mother In Birmingham, both in England. His father had worked as a Schoomaster. Alexander had a married sister. He attended Rural schools in Alberta between 1915-1922 and then 1922-1925, followed by home tuition 1933-1934. During 1935 he then worked as a freight checker for the Hudson Bay Company before joining the Royal Canadian Mounted Police 1935-1940. He was a Constable 1st. Class for five years. His sport interests were boxing, tennis and swimming and his hobby was rifle and revolver shooting. |
Alexander enlisted on 22 August 1940. After training he was posted to the U.K. and arrived at 3PRC on 19 May 1941. He was then at 22 OTU 24 May 1941, and 405 Squadron on 23 July 1941. Sadly Alexander then lost his life on 8 November 1941. |
