Miscellaneous Information
Joseph was born on 21 September 1920 at Drumheller, Alberta. His father worked as a carpenter and was born at Bennington, Oxford County and his mother was born in London, England. The schools he attended were the Prince of Wales Public school, 1925- 1935, Enterprise High School, in Orono and then Windsor, Walkerville Vocational 1936-1937 (Technical course). The sports Joseph took part in were football, baseball and basketball. His hobby was to tinker around with machinery. He worked as a farm labourer for various members of the Ramsbury family during 1934-1936, then in 1936 and again in 1938. He then worked for Mrs. Gornish 1938-1941 and then for a Mr.S.H. Davey during 1941, until enlisting on 5 January 1942. |
Joseph married Irene Emma Osborne on 7 November 1942 and was embarking for the U.K. on 23 November. He arrived at 3 PRC on 1 December 1942, 1659 CU. 9 January 1943 and 419 Squadron on 27 February 1943. Sadly Joseph lost his life the following month on 28 March 1943. |
