Aan de bosrand recht voor u crashte op 16 Juli 1941 Vickers Wellington R1536 van 218 Squadron Royal Air Force. Het viieotuig was op de terugweg van een bombardement op Duisburg toen het werd neergeschoten door een Duitse nachtjager.
