Miscellaneous Information
Transferred from Coastal the day before. Nevertheless, this was clearly a Coastal Command sortie. |
Lloyd was born at Kelloe, Manitoba on 12 May 1917. His father was born at Salem, Ontario and was a farmer and his mother was born at Stratford, Ontario. He had a brother Charles and two married sisters, Dorothy and Jean. He attended Kelloe School, 1923-1931 and again 1932- 1933. These were followed by Lake school 1933- 1934 (all Manitoba). Lloyd enjoyed playing softball, curling and bowling. He was working on the family farm (J. B. Findlay) at Kelloe between 1933-1941 until he enlisted on 2 September 1941. |
After training he was posted to the U.K. and embarked from New York on 23 November 1942, arriving at 3PRC on 1 December 1942. He was then at 9(0) AFU on 18 December 1942. He sadly lost his life on 13 July 1944. |
