Miscellaneous Information
| Earl was born on 1 April 1920 at St Joseph Island, Algoma, Ontario. His father, a Lumberman, was born in Oslo, Norway and his mother in Ontario. She sadly died in 1925. After his mother died Earl, aged 5, went to live with a Mr.and Mrs Axel Sand who became his tentative guardians and is where he grew up. He attended the local junior School 1925-1933, followed by Sault St. Marie Collegiate Institute 1933-1937 (Jnr. Matric). The sports he was interested in were badminton and swimming. He worked at the Royal Bank from 1937 until he enlisted on 8 October 1941. |
| Arrived at 3(P) AFU on 6 April 1943, 19 OUT on 4 May 1943 and lastly 77 Squadron 8 September 1943 where he sadly died later that month, on 22 September 1943. |

Visibility was good but strong winds hampered the marking efforts and consequently the bombing by the main force. No local report is available but it is unlikely that significant damage was caused. |
