Victor enlisted in October 1939. He was born on 3 July 1920 at Harborne. He attended Bablake School from 1932 to 1936 and his younger brother, Flying Officer Maurice Leslie Dodd also attended Bablake (1933 to 1939) and died on 21 July 1944. The family resided at 186 Holbrook Lane and kept the Post Office. Victor was employed as a clerk with the Royal Insurance Co. Ltd. 'The Wheatleyan', December 1940 to July 1941 stated "he was killed in an enemy attack on his station". |
