Reason for Loss | Records show that nine aircraft from 18 Squadron operated with twenty seven aircraft from other stations against Knapsack Power Station. Sergeant Cutler’s Blenheim was damaged by a cable over the Dutch border and was last seen heading to Holland under control but eventually crashed into the sea off the Dutch coast. The remaining Blenheims bombed the target and it was seen to be ablaze, however they did encounter light flak and enemy fighters. From the nine aircraft, three 18 Squadron Blenheims failed to return. |
