Reason for Loss | Shot down by a night-fighter (Ju 88) flown by Hptm. Karl-Heinz Weigel of IV./NJG 6 at 15000' on the return leg and crashed at SW of Bingen, Germany. Those who perished were initially buried in a communal grave at Bengel Cemetery and were reinterred 21 May 1948. |
