Reason for Loss | The aircraft received a direct hit in the bomb bay ,the aircraft was abandoned over Duisburg unfortunately the crew were a parachute short so Sgt Wainwright and Sgt Addis jumped together, tragically when the parachute opened Sgt Addis was thrown off. All the other crew members successfully baled out, but were captured and made PoWs. |
