Miscellaneous Information
Born 4 December 1921, Devonport. His father had been a Petty Officer in the Navy, he died aged 52 in 1933. Louise had been born in Twickenham and they married in Devonport in 1906. Louis junior enlisted as a pilot and had been on his final course at 36 SFTS Penfold, Alberta 9 January 1942-24 April 1942. He left the course on 8 April 1942 and remustered to air gunner. |

Reason for Loss | Shot down by flak from multiple batteries. The same flak is thought to have brought down ED568 within minutes of one another and it not certain which aircraft crashed where. This crew were initially buried along with the crew of ED568 in Monchengladbach and both crews now share a collective grave in Rheinberg War Cemetery. |
