Miscellaneous Information
Born 10 June 1923, St. Paul, Minnesota. At the time of his enlistment, the family were living at Charles Street, Eburne, British Columbia, Canada. His father was a Garage proprietor and was born in America, his mother was born in Sweden. Edwin had worked from 1937-41 as a garage mechanic and had been educated in Garson. He had originally been posted into 207 Sqdn on15 September 1942 from 207 Conversion Flight but was admitted to Rauceby Hospital on 15 September 1942, returning to the squadron on 13 January 1943. He flew one operation, 21-22 February 1943 to Bremen before being posted to 1654CU on 23 February 1943 and arrived on 44 Sqdn on 25 March 1943. |
Although born in America, he gave his nationality as Canadian on his enlistment papers. |

Reason for Loss | Shot down by flak from multiple batteries. The same flak is thought to have brought down ED568 within minutes of one another and it not certain which aircraft crashed where. This crew were initially buried along with the crew of ED568 in Monchengladbach and both crews now share a collective grave in Rheinberg War Cemetery. |
