Born December 1922, Sunderland. His brother Gilbert died on 19 October 1943 when the ship he was serving on as 3rd officer, S.S Penolver, struck a mine at 20.30hrs and sank in 3 minutes, the ship had been in convoy WB65, the mine had been laid by U-Boat, U220. |
