Reason for Loss | Aircraft took off from Wellesbourne Mountford for a cross country exercise . It is possible icing forced the crew to descend and in doing so they became enveloped in a snow storm. Out of control the bomber crashed at 1311 hrs at Hermitage Farm near Hope, 7 miles ENE of Chapel -en le Frith Derbyshire |
