Reason for Loss | Staffordhire Advertiser December 13th 1941: "AIRMAN'S DEATH. A verdict of accidental death was recorded at an inquest on Geoffrey Topham, of Chorlton, Manchester, a corporal in the R.A.F., who died from injuries received in an accident near the Parkhouse Colliery on December 3. It was stated that defendant [sic - deceased] was riding a motor cycle in the direction of Talke, when he drew out from behind a lorry and trailer and came into collision with a lorry driven by James George Kett, of Ponders End, London. The District Coroner (Mr. S. A. H. Burne) said that Kett was in no way to blame for the accident. |
