Reason for Loss | Ditched in the North Sea 14 miles off Yarmouth. Skarzynski was hit by a wave as he left the aircraft and was drowned. His body was carried back across the North Sea and washed up at Terschelling. The other crew members made it into the dinghy and were rescued. |
