Le 16 août 1943, le bombardier Lancaster DV186 de la Royal Air Force est abattu par un avion de chasse allemand, basé à Beaumont-le-Roger. Il s'écrase sur la ferme de M. Almire GIRARD au Bosc Robert. Cette catastrophe fait 10 victimes, les 7 membres de l'équipage of trois dos occupants do la maison.
Translation "On the 16° of August 1943, at about 4 a.m., the 4-engined British Lancaster bomber DV186 of 61 Sqn RAF, returning from a bombing mission over Milan (Italy) was shot down by a German fighter of the 2/JG2 based at the Beaumont-le-Roger Luftwaffe Air Field. The Lancaster crashed at the Bosc Robert, on Mr. Almire Girards farmhouse. The disaster left ten people dead: the 7 crew members and 3 people among the farmhouse inhabitants." |
