Miscellaneous Information
His parents, Cornelius and Amy, were killed in a bombing raid on Birmingham on 11 Dec 1940 at their home in Beach Avenue, Beach Road, Sparkbrook. Amy's body was not found until the next day. This was the longest raid on Birmingham, lasting some 13 hours. 263 people were killed and 243 badly injured. |
