| Frederick was born on 16 March 1922 at Victoria, British Columbia. His father was born in England and worked as a Real Estate Salesman and his mother was born at Lacombe, Alberta. He was one of three children and had a brother Donald James. Sadly his baby sister Dorothy Pearl died when she was only eight months old. The schools Frederick attended were Cloverdale, 1928-1936. Victoria High 1936-1940 and Victoria High Tech where he took part grade 12 during 1936-1940. His sport interests were tennis and badminton. Frederick undertook several short term occupations. He was a photographer for G. Martin Moviette Studios March-November 1940. Also as a photographer for C.A. Belcher, between November 1940 and April 1941. During 1941 he undertook night work for World Wide photography and then worked for 3 months in a hardware Department. |
| He enlisted on 18 March 1942 and after training embarked from Halifax for the U.K. on 16 May 1943. Arriving at 3PRC on 24 May he went on to 11 (P) AFU 16 June 1943, 21 (P)AFU 1 August 1943 and 23 OTU on 31 August 1943. Frederick sadly lost his life on 2 October 1943. |

| Reason for Aircraft Loss | Took off with propellers in fixed pitch. Overshot a first landing attempt with the props still in fixed pitch, made a second attempt with the port prop feathered and the undercarriage down. Lost height and crashed. |
