Reason for Loss | On return the Lancaster was diverted to the emergency landing airfield at Catfoss, near Bridlington. While in the circuit, the aircraft struck a tree and crashed near Beverley. The pilot had been injured during the sortie, which may have been a contributory factor in the crash. |
