Miscellaneous Information
Edward was born in Hamilton, Ontario on 3 May 1924. His father was born in Łódź, Piotrkow, Poland and worked as a machinist, his mother, also born Poland. He had one sister aged 21 years at the time Edward enlisted. The schools he attended were St.Ann’s School, Hamilton, 1931-1938 (General) and Hamilton Technical Institute. 1938-1939 (General Tech.course). Edward worked for Quality Grocers, Hamilton as a clerk 1939-1940, for Dominion Stores, Hamilton also as a clerk 1940-1941 and for Otis Fensom Elevator as an Improver. 1941-1942. His hobby was photography and for sports he played baseball and hockey. |
After enlisting on 6 August 1942, he embarked from New York for the U.K. on 4 May 1943. He reached 3 PRC on 12 May 1943, and 26 OTU on 18 May 1943. He was killed less than three weeks later. |
