| His Brother, 411932 John Mitchell Paape was also killed while on the strength of Bomber Command, aboard 214 Sqn Stirling R9146, which was shot down by a night-fighter and crashed in Holland. He rests in Uden Cemetery. |
| The majority of the crew had flown 14 operations. |
