Reason for Loss | While in the circuit the port engine failed thus necessitating a forced-landing at 0215,in which the aircraft hit some trees to the W of Wendy, a little over 10 miles SW of Cambridge. Sgt Garrod lived for a matter of hours, Sgt Oldfield died shortly after the crash. 5 days after the crash P/O Orton died. All the crew are listed as injured after the crash. |
