Miscellaneous Information
Jack was born at Brampton, Ontario on 31 January 1921. His father was born at Mortonville and worked as a Caretaker at the Post Office, his mother was born in Scotland. He had two sisters, Betty and Pearl. Sadly Pearl had died aged six years. He went to Brampton Public School 1925-1932, followed by Brampton High School 1933-1938. He worked for the Adage Estate, Ontario, as a cashier between 1939 and 1941, where he was still employed at the time of enlistment. The sports he took art in were lacrosse and basketball and he enjoyed typing and book keeping. |
He enlisted on 21 July 1941 at Toronto and after training was posted to the U.K. He embarked from New on 23 November 1942, arriving at 3PRC on 1 December 1942. He was then at 10 (0) AFU 18 December 1942, ACRC 10 March 1943, 7 (C) 0 OTU 13 April 1943, and ITTU 9 June 1943. Sadly Jack lost his life on 21 July 1944. |
