Reason for Loss | Strayed into Swiss air space due to high cross winds. Damaged by Flak, bomb load jettisoned and trapped in a valley in a thunderstorm, the Lancaster, at 01:20 (local) flew into high tension cables and crashed at Thyon-les-Collons, 6 km S of Sion. |
