| Reason for Aircraft Loss | At 1205hrs aircraft took off for bombing exercise. Having entered cloud aircraft was in process of banking on instruments, when lost height and crashed at 1215hrs. Crash believed to have occurred in vicinity of Bin of Cullen, approx 3 miles ESE of Banff. Sgt Chenery initially survived but unfortunately succumbed to his wounds at Seafield Cottage Hospital, Buckie. |
