Reason for Loss | A W/T message was received indicating that Sgt Penberthy had been killed during an engagement with a night-fighter. Later, the Manchester crashed into the sea off Westerhever. Four bodies were eventually recovered and are now buried in Kiel War Cemetery. The rest are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. |
