Reason for Loss | Training night circuits and landings. At 1925, when taxying collided with a landing Whitley, N1375. It transpired that there had been some confusion between the Airfield Control Officer and the airmen stationed at the upwind end of the runway regarding lighting and F/L Mathews was under the impression he had been cleared to back-track. His pupil, Sgt Eagles RCAF, was unhurt and later joined 426 Sqd. |
