Miscellaneous Information
Conrad was born at Provost, Alberta on 8 July 1918. His father was born in New York, USA and was a farmer (died 1942) and his mother was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He had three brothers, Herman, Paul and Peter and one sister Marguerite. The school he attended was Stuckey S.D. 1923-1931 (grade8). He worked in farming 1931-1942 and was lumbering during the winter months at Swanson Lumber Company, Northville , Alberta. |
He enlisted on 24 November 1942 and after training was posted to the U.K. He embarked from Halifax on 22 0ctober 1943 arriving at 3 (RCAF) PRC on 31 October 1943, 81 OTU 23 November 1943, 28 OTU 1 January 1944, 11 Base 28 March 1944, 100 Squadron 25 May 1944. Conrad sadly lost his life on 29 July 1944. |
