Miscellaneous Information
Joseph was born on 12 May 1923 at Brampton, Ontario. His father was born in Brampton and worked as a tinsmith and his mother was born in Toronto. He had brothers Thomas, George, Harold and Gordon and sisters Eleanor and Margaret. He attended two schools, one was Central, Brampton 1929-1936 and Brampton High School 1936-1940. He completed three years for Junior Matric. Joseph enjoyed playing Lacrosse, baseball, and basketball and was also in the Boy Scouts. He was employed as a Stockkeeper 1940-1942 by National Steel Car at Malton, Ontario. |
He enlisted on 9 November 1942 and after training embarked from Canada on 22 October 1943. After arriving at 3 (RCAF) PRC on 31 October 1943 he moved on to 17 OTU 16 November 1943, 51 Base. 29 February 1944, and 619 Squadron 30 May 1944. On 19 July Joseph sadly lost his life. |
