Reason for Loss | Airborne 23:31. Turned back with a faltering port engine. Stalled whilst turning finals and spun, bursting into flames on impact at 2340 hrs. There were no survivors. The aircraft remains were guarded by a fire picquet and at 03.20 hrs in the morning there was an explosion which killed LAC Ward who is buried at Fradley and three others who are buried elsewhere. |
