| Aircraft LL775 and DV245 (the last 101 Squadron losses of the war) are often transposed in historial records due to an error on the loss cards. The Operations Records Books, however, are correct. |
| Jim was born on 2 May 1922 at Togo, Saskatchewan. Both parents were born in China and his father was a Restaurant Operator. They lived in Winnipeg. He had a sister shown as Mrs. Allan Chan and three brothers, Henry On, Louis and Jack. The schools he attended were Somerset 1-71. 1934-1937 and H. J. MacDonald 1934-1941. The sports he played were soccer and baseball. Jim worked as a waiter at Dominion Cafe, Kenora, Ontario, 1941-1943 and then he enlisted on 18 February 1943. After training he was posted to the U.K. and embarked from Halifax on 3 May 1944 arriving at 3PRC on 11 May. He then continued to 2 (0) AFU on 25 July 1944, 85 OTU 5 September 1944, 71 Base 8 December 1944 and 101 Squadron on 9 March 1945. It was only two weeks later that Jim was sadly to lose his life on 23 March 1945. |
