| George was born on 17 April 1915 at St James, Manitoba. His father was born in Hull, Yorkshire, England and worked as a Shipper for National Drugs Ltd. and his mother was born in Bruce County, Ontario. He had two married sisters Florence Margaret (Taylor) and Dorothy Ellen (Allard), a brother William Stanley and a second brother, Leonard who died in 1911. The schools he attended were in Manitoba, Britannia 1921-1929 and St. James Collegiate 1929- 1932 (Jnr. Matric). The sports he enjoyed were golf and bowling and he liked reading and saxophone music. He worked at the Red Indian Service Station as an Attendant 1932-1935, and at National Drugs Ltd. as a Shipper 1935-1942 . |
| George had enlisted on 23 June 1942 and after training was posted to the U.K. He embarked from Halifax on 27 May 1943 arriving at 3PRC on 5 June 1943. He was at 5 AOS on 17 August 1943, 14 OTU 20 September 1943, 61 Squadron 13 May 1944 and 97 Squadron on 24 June 1944. He sadly lost his life on 21 December 1944. |
