Born 13 November 1920 Otahuhu, Auckland, Keith had been a pupil at Manurewa Primary School & Otahuhu Technical High School, where he had been a keen Tennis & Football Player. Whilst he was at 19 OTU Kinloss he was detached to RAF St. Eval flying on Anti-Submarine operations & flew 8 operations before being posted to 1660 CU, then to 50 Sqdn on 8 December 1942. |

Reason for Loss | Aircraft took off from Skellingthorpe at 1825 hrs detailed to attack targets in Turin. Having completed the operation, the crew had diverted to Gibraltar low on fuel, missed its ETA and had been presumed lost over the sea or ditched. Last heard of at 2305 hrs transmitting "Making forced landing in position 3610N 0520W". It transpired that the Lancaster had come down NE of Fez near Aknoul at Taza, French Morocco, there were no survivors. |
