| Operation | Air test- to test the efficacy of 'Village Inn', a new night-fighter approach warning radar fitted to the rear gun turret. The aircraft was detached from 460 Sqn to the Bombing Development Unit |
| Reason for Aircraft Loss | Crashed at Witchford, Cambridgeshire after the dingy came out of over-wing storage during vigerous evasive actions to avoid the (friendly) fighter and fouled tailplanes, causing the aircraft to flip onto its back. The pilot attempted to complete the full loop to recover the situation but the aircraft was too low and it crashed into the ground. |
